Monthly Scripture Highlights
✦ June Foundation Verse ✦
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17 · NKJV
Building Strong Foundations
in God's Word
Every strong building begins with a foundation that cannot be shaken. This month at The Bible Bloom, we are returning to the very ground beneath our feet — the Word of God. Before we can grow in faith, we must be rooted in what we believe and why we believe it. These June scripture highlights were chosen to anchor you, teach you, and remind you that the Bible is not simply an ancient text. It is the living, breathing Word of a God who speaks — and He is speaking to you right now.
Scripture Is Profitable for
Every Season of Your Life
Scripture:
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NKJV)
Summary:
The Greek word behind "inspiration" is theopneustos — literally, God-breathed. These verses are the cornerstone of everything we believe about the Bible. Paul is writing to Timothy, a young minister, and he wants him to understand what he holds in his hands. This is not a collection of good ideas from wise men. This is the very breath of God in written form. And because God breathed it, it is profitable — meaning it yields fruit, it produces results, it works. Doctrine teaches us what is true. Reproof shows us where we have gone wrong. Correction shows us how to get back on the right path. Instruction in righteousness shows us how to walk well. The Word of God is not just for Sunday morning. It is for every moment, every decision, every season of your life.
.
Encouragement:
You are holding something holy in your hands when you open your Bible. Do not treat it like an ordinary book. It was breathed out by God specifically for you — to equip you, correct you, and make you complete. Open it expecting God to speak. He will not disappoint you.
The Bible Reads You
Just as Much as You Read It
Scripture:
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
Summary:
Most books stay on the page. The Word of God does not. The writer of Hebrews uses two remarkable words to describe Scripture — living and powerful. Living means it has life in it. It is not a dead letter from a distant past. It is alive and active right now, in this moment, in your situation. Powerful — or energes in Greek, where we get our word "energy" — means it is at work, producing results, cutting through to the very core of who you are. The image of a two-edged sword is striking. A sword that cuts on both sides leaves nothing untouched. The Word of God reaches places no counselor, no friend, no sermon can reach. It discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart — the deep things, the hidden things, the things we have not even named yet. When you feel like you do not know what is going on inside you, open the Word. It knows.
Encouragement:
Have you ever opened your Bible to a passage you have read a hundred times and suddenly it hit differently? That is not coincidence — that is the living Word meeting you right where you are. The Bible is not static. God uses the same verses to speak fresh truth into every new season. Keep reading. It is reading you too.
You Do Not Need to See
the Whole Path — Just the Next Step
Scripture:
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)
Summary:
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the entire Bible — 176 verses — and every single one of them is about the Word of God. The psalmist was not writing from a comfortable place. He was writing from affliction, from persecution, from uncertainty. And yet in the middle of it all, he declares this: the Word of God is a lamp and a light. In the ancient world, a lamp did not illuminate the entire road ahead. It gave you just enough light for the next step. That is exactly what God's Word does. It does not always show us the full picture or answer every question. But it gives us enough. Enough to take the next step in obedience. Enough to move forward in faith. Enough to trust that the One who holds the lamp also holds the path. The word path here speaks of a journey — not a destination. This is a verse for people who are in the middle of something, not at the end of it. If you are in the middle of something right now, this word is for you.
Encouragement:
You do not need to have it all figured out. You do not need to see the end from the beginning — that is God's job, not yours. What you need is the next step, and the Word of God will give it to you. Pick it up. Read it. Trust it. The lamp is already lit. Let it lead you.
